Terms of participation

störung.online lives on your reports and comments. To keep it useful for everyone, a few simple rules apply.

1. Outage reports

  • Only report outages that are actually affecting you right now.
  • One report per provider is possible every 30 minutes.
  • Details about service and city are optional, but help everyone else assess the situation.

2. Comments — what is allowed

  • Criticism of providers and companies is explicitly allowed— clear frustration and harsh words about Telekom, Vodafone & Co. are part of any outage.
  • Factual information (city, service, since when) makes for the most helpful comments.
  • Comments can be posted anonymously; a name is optional.

3. Comments — what is not allowed

  • Insults, attacks or exposure directed at other users. The line is simple: ranting about the company is fine, targeting people here in the comments is not.
  • Discriminatory, inflammatory or criminal content — regardless of whom it targets.
  • Personal data of third parties (names, addresses, phone numbers, customer numbers).
  • Spam, advertising, chain comments and links to dubious sites (max. 1 link per comment).
  • Deliberately false reports about outages.

4. Moderation

  • Comments are checked automatically before publication (including rate limits, spam detection and insult detection that distinguishes between criticism of the provider and attacks on people).
  • Violations are rejected or removed without notice.
  • In case of repeated or serious violations, further posts may be technically blocked.

5. Miscellaneous

  • All data (status, counters, charts) is based on user reports and does not represent official statements by the providers.
  • Reports and comments are stored in anonymised form (IP addresses only as a truncated hash to prevent abuse).
  • These terms may be updated; the current version applies.
